sex and the city

I finally finished all six seasons of my new favorite show Sex and The City and I basically loved it. It's that simple. And yes, I know i'm a little bit late on the band wagon but better late then never right? Plus i'm just in time for the second movie!

Who knows, maybe i'll move to New York one day live life like Carrie Bradshaw does. New York is one of my dreams...

Utah really is beautiful

My favorite time of year is always spring. The sun starts to kiss my skin and I can't stop staring at and photographing all of the blossoms. Yesterday was a perfect spring day. I spent this lovely spring Sunday hiking up Millcreek Canyon with my dear friend Ryan for a few good miles and a few good hours. I do have to admit, Utah is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I can't even deny it. The mountains are breathtaking and the serenity is amazing. Aside from the beauty of yesterday, we kick started Sunday funday and I can't wait to see what adventures we'll come across!

I am just absolutely loving this song right now and I had to share! In this video they had a whole bunch of friends join them [them as in The Morning Benders] to perform their song 'Excuses'. Sigh, I just love it.

yep i'm still growing

Last night I was lying in bed catching up on my tv shows when I quickly arose because I felt a growing pain in my right leg! Luckily it stopped. But today at work, i'm standing doing a whole lot of nothing, and boom, another growing pain! This time it was in my other leg around my knee. Wtf. I'm twenty years old aren't these supposed to go away by now? This means there is still hope that I won't be the shortest of all my sisters. Yep, I guess i'm still growing.

[I don't have a scanner or i'd supply a better picture of when I was younger. But hey my mom said we were allowed to dress "not our best" when we went to Idaho]

No Woman No Cry

So I haven't written about Jamaica yet because truthfully I have no idea what to write about! I learned too much and experienced too much for one little blog entry. So for right now i'm just going to post some of my favorite pics. Pictures are worth a thousand words right?

is it bad?

Is it bad that there is a part of me that wants to be a trucker? Like a real truck driver that drives around hauling stuff and sleeps in the back of their truck. It must be the same part of me that wants to live in a motorhome driving all over America. Which also must be the same part of me that wants to drive on route 66 on the back of a motorcycle.

*As soon as I can grasp my incredible vacation in Jamaica i'll write about it and post some pics. I'm just having a hard time wrapping me head around all I experienced and learned..

Water For Elephants

Today I finished Water For Elephants by Sarah Gruen, and it was incredible! I highly recommend it. It's about a traveling circus set in the depression era and it's full of, well, just about everything. Just I thought "hey this would make an amazing movie" I found out it is being made into a movie! I'm thrilled (as long as they do this amazing book justice, if not then I will retract these words when it comes out). Reese Witherspoon is already signed on to play Marlena and there are rumors that Rob Pattinson sigh and Sean Penn may also be starring in the film.

Oh I'm excited!

1996

I stumbled across these two beauties of my sisters and I from 1996 (before Allie was born). Oldies but goodies! I love them and just had to share them with you..

A few things my future boyfriend-husband should know, or be warned about...

• I am capable of setting spaghetti on fire and I did last week
• I like to sleep at a diagonal
• I sit in the shower
• And I tend to use all the hot water for my showers..
• I would highly prefer not to do my hair ever
• I still love my blanket even though im 20

but, I can assure you...

• I will make you lots of cakes
• And, I will love you lots and lots!

new shoes make me happy

There is nothing I love more than a cute new pair of shoes, and these are now mine. Although I can not take the credit for finding them i'm still really thrilled and I just had to share my excitement..

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Friday night I went and saw The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. It was crazy, amazing, weird, intriguing, wonderful, detailed, well made, and full of creativity!I just had to tell you all that I recommend this one if you're sick of all the other movies that are playing right now like I am..

"Hi, i'm Bondy"

So Wednesday night was a big night in the life of Kristen Mickelson. I went to the A.A. Bondy concert and not only was I up close and personal but I met him. I was as nervous as a little elementary school girl but with the help of a few friends it happened and this is how it went:

Will-"This is my friend Kristen" shoving me forward towards my dream man

A.A. Bondy-"What was your name"

Kristen-"Kristen"

A.A. Bondy- while shaking my hand "Hi, i'm Bondy"

Kristen- "You did a really good job tonight"

A.A. Bondy- "Thank you, I really appreciate that"

Kristen- "I really like your music" (so cliche, the nerves got the best of me)

A.A. Bondy-" Thank you so much. That really means a lot" or something to that affect

He is incredible live and I loved every minute of that night gazing up at the devilishly handsome man while he sang and melted my heart.

Thanks A.A. Bondy you really made my night.

my 1st trip abroad

I just purchased my ticket for JAMAICA, to go to my sister Nicole's first yoga retreat, and I am getting so excited! I'll be traveling for 11 days and this is where i'm going.. Wish me luck in JAMAICA MON!

a feast!

The lack of blogging is due to many things after Thanksgiving..

• Moving to Sugarhouse (pictures to come once everything is completed)
• The mortifying long recovery of wisdom teeth removal + dry socket
• Christmas festivities and family gatherings
• Holiday shopping at work aka me so tired..
• and i'm just still adjusting to all the changes around me (including the weather)

But, amongst all the chaos I had a beautiful breakfast fit for kings, with my dearest friends/ coworkers. Breakfast is my favorite meal after all!

As I am stuck at home medicating and recovering from getting my wisdom teeth out.. I thought I'd take the time to say a few things that I am thankful for as tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. I am thankful for my family. With everything we have been through, I still love and adore everyone of them. I am thankful I have a descent paying job in this tough economy. I'm thankful that i'm healthy as a horse. I'm thankful for delicious food that I miss at the moment (a liquid diet is not for me. I'd die for some real food right now). I am thankful for my friends and my precious pets. I am thankful to live in an amazing country. There is just so much to be thankful for right now and

losing my wisdom..

I get my wisdom teeth out on Tuesday and i'm a little nervous. Okay so that was an understatement.. i'm very nervous. I keep waking up in the middle of the night about it. Yes I am a baby. But in the mean time, wish me luck!..

Also..

I saw New Moon this week, loved it (not as much as the books though I will admit).I had IN-N-OUT 3 days in a row at the new location in Draper, also loved it. I bought a new vintage dress from decades, love it so much. And I finally found some knee high boots that I love. Talk about a good week :)

temper

I have a RED HOT TEMPER and i'm having a hard time controlling it right now..
I'm only human after all.
Usually when I am upset, I shop..but.. I am out of money. Due to bills of course.. and shopping in excess. So, for now I will just write this pointless blog about being upset.
